Euroflora 2018: all about the Genoa fair
History of Euroflora
Euroflora was born in Genoa in 1966 Thanks to the intuition of Carlo Pastorino, at the time President of the Ente Fiera of the Ligurian capital. Inspired by the great
European floral exhibitions, he wanted to give prestige to the city by organizing a unique event that had the flowers and plants at the center of the project, with the aim of attracting visitors in order to make the Genoa Fair a popular place among the most important internationally.
The idea was to have, in Euroflora, an exhibition that was of reference not only for the city, but for the whole of Europe.
Already in the first edition 250 thousand spectators were visited, which were able to appreciate the great contribution that the producers and the nursery-growers of the region gave to the entire sector.
They immediately seized the opportunities that could have come out, understood their potential and proved to be partners for the years to come. From that period to today, ten editions have passed and is preparing to stage the eleventh, called Euroflora Genova 2018.
The growing trend of exhibitors and visitors is constantly increasing and, from time to time, the fair knows how to renew itself by opening up to new crops and interesting novelties in the field of flower-nursery.
What is Euroflora Genova 2018
Euroflora Genova 2018 is the international fair of flowers and ornamental plants, held in the Ligurian capital from April 21 to May 6.
The surface destined for the event is immense and counts as much as 86 thousand square meters with paths that wind through the Nervi Parks for at least 5 kilometers.
Visiting the event it will be possible not only to get a botanical culture on plants and flowers, but also to cross unique parks, to see houses and villas with characteristic historical features, in an environment full of charm and colors.
The goal of Euroflora Genova 2018 is to involve the visitor in a special experience that will hardly forget: there will be 4 areas that will develop issues related to the so-called 4 natural elements, such as land, air, water and fire.
Each area wants to be a framework within which the visitor will be able to move continuing his exhibition path.
You will then find yourself crossing expanses of red flowers that will symbolize the flames, pass near large horses near Villa Grimaldi and its historic stables, being able to appreciate the art of sculpture made with plants and flowers. A small pond with colored floating water lilies will be the third painting while the grand finale is left to the air and to a special technique called anamorphosis.
To understand what it is you will have to go to the place, because only in this way the principle will find its being, by definition.
All included in the context of the Parks of Nervi, a place where the typical vegetation of Liguria intertwines with those coming from tropical countries. The botanical species present in the park exceed one hundred and large-sized trees. Moreover the Ligurian vegetation of the Riviera naturally enriches what will be the fair, among olive trees, pines and palms.
